Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech
Welcome to Morocco and the start of your marvelous journey! Arrive into Marrakech Airport and we transfer you close to the Medina. Spend the remains of the day at leisure. A possibility to go out and see the famous Dejmaa el Fna Square. In the evening, it gets busy with bustling life; snake charmers, orange juice sellers, food stalls, and storytellers inhabit the big square, providing entertainment and tasty foods for the whole evening.

Day 2: Marrakech
Today is your chance to see and taste Marrakech. The guided tour starts in the morning and takes you around the old part to discover the old palaces, madrassas, and the souks of thousands of shops; through the winding streets full of colors and spicy aromas. Time goes by visiting the Koutoubia gardens and contemplating the biggest mosque in Marrakech, the Koutoubia Mosque, which dates back to the 12th century. Then, arrive at the famous Square Dejmaa el Fna, inhabited by snake charmers, henna artists, food stalls, and storytellers. It is best seen in the evening. Spend the afternoon free or possibly visit the Exotic Gardens of Majorelle.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate – Skoura
The guide and transportation arrive early to head south from the flat plain of Haouz across the High Atlas Mountains up to the pass of Tizi n’Tichka, along the twisty roads with magnificent views and landscapes. En route to Ouarzazate, visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, Ait Benhadou Kasbah, an ancient fortified city. Stop in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of North Africa, to visit its famous film studios before continuing to Skoura Oasis to spend the night, enjoying its silence and the sound of birds chanting in the gardens.

Day 4: Skoura – Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Tmtatoucht Village
Drive on the road of one thousand Kasbahs, observing the beauty of Berber architecture. Arrive at Kalaa Mgouna, the Valley of Roses, where rose water is produced. If visiting in May, pick some roses from the fields. Continue across the villages of Dades Valley, stopping for stunning views of the rock formations in the Dades Gorge. In Tinghir, take a short walk in the oasis before heading to Todra Gorge, Morocco’s highest canyon, for the overnight stay in Tmtatoucht village.

Day 5: Tmtatoucht to Merzouga Erg Chebbi
Cross the mountainous landscapes of Jbel Saghro, passing ancient wells dug by nomads for water transport. Stop for lunch in Errissani, perhaps trying Madfouna, Moroccan pizza. A short drive brings you to the edge of the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you meet the camel team and enjoy tea. Take a 1.5-hour camel ride across the dunes, stopping for a sunset view before reaching the Berber camp. Experience an unforgettable desert night, stargazing after dinner and enjoying a campfire with Saharan music.

Day 6: Merzouga – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Leave the camp early for a sunrise climb up a big dune. Return to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. Drive through Alnif and Nkoub Valleys, stopping at picturesque villages and oases. After a lunch stop in Nkoub, continue to Agdz to explore the Draa Valley and River, the start of the Atlas, and the longest river in Morocco. Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate to Marrakech
After breakfast, head back to Marrakech for a final celebratory dinner.

Day 8: Marrakech
Sadly, everything has an end, including your journey. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
