Visas
EU, AUS,US, UK & CAN nationals do not require any visa to enter Morocco. Please check if you are from another country. RSA ( South Africa) passport holders need to obtain a visa in advance, if an RSA passport holder, please check your personal visa requirements with the embassy.
Best time to visit Morocco
Climate
Temperatures in Morocco are generally high ( DRY HEAT ), particularly during the summer time from May to September, when the temperatures are exceptionally high, so take plenty of sunscreen that suits your skin, cover up and drink lots of water.
The winter in Morocco becomes cooler from October to February, it drops below 0 in some places especially in the atlas mountains and desert. Pack your warm clothes and jackets and check weather forecast a few days before your flight to get an idea of the temperature.
ATM’s & Credit Cards
Exchange facilities are available at various Bureau de Changes in major towns and most banks have ATM’s.

Ramadan
Credit cards can be accepted in some larger shops, hotels and restaurants. Travellers Cheques are also difficult to change , so make sure you have sufficient funds in cash.
Hotel Check-in & Check-out
All hotels have a check-in time 14:00-15:00 and check-out always prior to12:00 noon.
Tap Water
Tap water in morocco contains high levels of minerals and although Moroccans are used to this, , for visitors to the country , drinking tap water often causes illness, to avoid gastric upsets bottled water is widely available, Popular brands of water include Sidi Ali, Ain Sais, Ain Ifrane, Sidi Harazem (still) and Oulmes (sparkling).
Taxis
Petit taxi in towns with a metre but you have to make sure it is turned on , or negotiate the rate before you set off. Peti taxis are not allowed to leave the borders of cities. If you a female its best not to sit in the front seat some drivers may assume you are interested .
Grand taxis it’s a shared means of public transport operates between cities, fares are semi fixed and shared equally between passengers( prices at night a little bit higher). The Grand Taxis usually seat six passengers per car, two in the front and four at the back.
Gratuities
Tipping is often not common in many western countries and many people feel uncomfortable , or unsure how much, when to tip. Tipping a part of Moroccan culture , it makes a significant part of many people’s wages .
